Leigh Andrews is a speech and language therapist. She worked in the homelessness sector for 15 years before training as a speech and language therapist at City St Georges, University of London, qualifying in 2019. Leigh now works for Change Communication which provides speech and language therapy for people experiencing homelessness in London, UK.
The International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders published research about the communication needs of rough sleepers in London conducted by Leigh and Prof. Nicola Botting in 2020.
Leigh is Chair of the Speech and Language Therapists’ Homelessness Clinical Excellence Network. Her first book called, “You all ***** talk too much: meeting communication needs in homelessness settings” was published by J&R Press in July 2024. Leigh has been nominated for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists’ Award for Fostering Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in 2024.
