Stammering and cluttering guidance consultations open

3 April 2025

Throughout April, we’re gathering feedback on two sets of upcoming guidance on stammering and cluttering

We’re seeking feedback on our upcoming, online guidance for both stammering and cluttering. These sets of guidance will replace our current guidance on dysfluency.

We invite both RCSLT members (SLTs) and the public, particularly people who stammer and/or clutter and their families, to provide feedback on the draft. There are two separate surveys that you can respond to – one for the stammering guidance, and one for the cluttering guidance:

Stammering Guidance drafts

Draft guidance for SLTs

Draft public guidance

Draft stammering guidance written for people who clutter, their friends and family, health professionals and the general public.

  •  Stammering overview public page (target audience: people who clutter and their family/friends, other health and education professionals, general public)

Draft position statement

Written for managers and commissioners of speech and language therapy services

Cluttering drafts

Draft guidance for SLTs

Draft public guidance

Draft cluttering guidance written for people who clutter, their friends and family, health professionals and the general public

Draft position statement

We’re keen to hear your views so please download the drafts and send us your feedback through our consultation surveys. The deadline for responding to both surveys is Wednesday 30th April 2025 at 12pm.

If you have any questions about the consultation, please contact lorna.baxter@rcslt.org
