The event will feature talks by parents and carers on their experiences and perspectives of working with professionals for their D/deaf child.

Morning sessions:

Individual Family Experiences – parental insights (9.45am-11.25am)
Talks from Lauren Mahoney, Carly McNicol, Sharifa Islam

Supporting Families (11.40am-12.55pm)
Liz Cullen (SALT, The Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Division): Flower Power – engaging, supporting and empowering families from the start of their cochlear implant journey.
Carl Dalton (SALT, Doncaster Deaf Trust): Evidenced based practice discussions.

Afternoon sessions: 

Supporting Families: continued (1.45pm-4.05pm)
Miriam Smith (QTOD): Sharing experiences of supporting a newly arrived refugee family and the challenges of multi agency working.
Karin Schamroth (SALT): Mentoring families to support them with the “missing link” including the latest evidence on training families to use SmiLE Therapy.
Dr Martina Curtin (SALT) and Alison Miles (co-producer and research partner): Sharing findings from the last four years of the EPID tool.
