Join Our Board of Trustees or Committees

Are you passionate about your profession and ready to make a difference? This is your opportunity to develop leadership skills, influence the direction of speech and language therapy, and help ensure RCSLT’s governance reflects the diversity of our members and the communities we serve.

We’re looking for dedicated speech and language therapists (or soon to be speech and language therapists) who share our values and want to help bring our bold Five Year Vision to life.

What Does Being a Trustee or Committee Member Involve?

As a trustee or committee member, you will:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of RCSLT
  • Share your insights and experiences to shape our work
  • Prepare for and attend four meetings a year (virtual and in-person)
  • Serve on one of our subsidiary committees
  • Collaborate with staff on specific projects
  • Take part in relevant training and development

No prior board experience? No problem. We’ll support you with training and buddying.

Who Can Apply?

You must be a full RCSLT member, including:

  • Certified, Newly Qualified, Overseas Qualified, Non-Practising, Returners to Practice, Retired, or Student members

We’re especially keen to hear from:

  • Members from underrepresented groups (e.g. Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, disabled members)
  • Allies of minoritised groups
  • Those passionate about equality, diversity, and inclusion
